The only thing that would make La Note, a new Provençal breakfast
and lunch spot in Berkeley, more French is if they would allow me to
bring my dog or let me smoke after eating.... The minute you enter this
beautiful cafe on Shattuck Avenue, you are enveloped in the splendor
of La Belle France... The French atmosphere is authentic because owner
Dorothee Mitrani-Bell, was born in Toulon and raised in Paris. “Homey”
is a good description of the French-inspired breakfast and lunch fare
at La Note.
